This image was taken by myself on a simple phone camera. I went on to manipulating the image by adding an effect which made the image look old. The connotations of this image is a boy sitting on a bench with a bottle in his hand. He has a wide smile on his face. There is a girl on on right who is about to sit down on the bench besides him and on her right this is another girl already sitting down on the bench with her right leg resting in her hands and her foot positioned on the bench. The image detonates that the boy is is a good mood and happy judging buy the smile on his face. He also comes across as relaxed because of the way he is slightly lent forwards and his shoulders slouched. The 3 people may be a group of friends who are just taking the opportunity to catch up and  relax.

CHANEL - COCO MADEMOISELLE

This advertisement by Chanel subverts our expectations because they use Keira Knightley, to model as the model for the perfume advertisement but she is naked with only a bowl hat, which is a male hate, to cover her cleavage and she has a males shirt draped across her lap. This works because Keira Knightley is a respectable celebrity who is nto always the medias main focuse for doing inapropriate things.This subverts the audience because Chanle have used a female, with male props in a masculine scenery because the background is dark with little sections of lighting.  The logo is written in the top in white against the black background so it satnds out. The advertisemt as a whole is a very suductive, tagrgeting at the older population. The perfume bottle is positioned at the bottom, not to big so it is not compositioned for the perfume to be the main focus of the advert. The name of the perfume is also not made the main focus of the advertisment because it is writen in a small font in black against the lighter area of the background. Despite the advertisement props, background and lighting subverting our exepectations, the name of the perfume reinforces that the perfume is for woamn because the word 'Mademoiselle' translate to 'miss' in english.

OLMYPICS

Connotation

At the top of the image there is the olypmpic logo in pink.

In the bottom right hand corner there is the top of the London

eye and in the left hand corner, you can see the top of the

Gherkin building. On the left,you can see a female posing with on leg up

and her arms stretched out behind her. Next to her you can see a

male athlete, bending down. Next to him you can see another make

athelte standing up holding the American flag behind his shoulder.

In the top right hand corner you can see a woman going to hit a ball.

Denotation

The athletes are American but the two famous London attractions

positioned in the the bottom left and right hand corner reneforce that

the games will be held in London. Countries from all other the world

are coming to compete in London for the Olympic games.

Composition

The way in which the athletes are positioned in the picture draws equal

ammount of attention to all of them. The bright pink logo at the top

reminds us that the importance of the image is the olympic games.

All the athletes are postioned at different levels enabling your eyes to 

not just focus on on area of the image. The London landmarks, although

the smallest images on the page are still noticibale.

Lighting

The centere of the image is the lightest part of the image drawing focus towards the the center if the image and the athlets in the middle. Althought the left and right side of the image is dark, the lighting on the athlete in the right hand side is bright so she still stands out as much as the other athlets who are positioned in the center. The lighting on her reneforces her value.
